Comments will now be moderated.

Too many silly comments have been made on this blog recently, so I have changed the settings to allow me to review comments before they are posted. If comments are serious and related to the topic, regardless of which side of the debate they may be on, they will be posted; otherwise, they will not. This restriction will not apply to my fellow blog managers.

If I had the ability to add approved commenters, I would since we have many regular commenters who contribute a great deal to the blog, but there is no such option in blogger, as far as I know.

I apologize for any inconvenience. Comments will still be posted as soon as I get a chance to review them, so please continue to comment.

  1. Gerry,

I agree that we need more serious discussion and comments need some kind of moderation. But I also think if you do so, we need to keep some records what kind of comments you didn't approve or you moderate in some way. Then we can know what is not allowed by you and everyone can understand that you don't moderate only because you don't like opposing opinion.

I know it's not easy, but we need to maintain freedom of speech and serious discussion at a same time. I really hate to read racial comments, but still, it is their opinion. I think it is a good idea to remove those comments from the post so that the discussion won't go off the track easily, though.

  2. It's not easy to make it moderated as Kaneganese told.

I like to read different opinions from Korean people, so I'm afraid they will refrain from posting their opinions.
But on the other hand, I was fed up with the same kind of repeated comments.

So the moderation would be inevitable. I agree with you Gerry, but please keep the moderation not too drastic.

I hope all of you readers to keep posting your opinions. Thank you.

  3. Kaneganese & Pacifist,

Since I started moderating the comments, not many have been made, but I will try not to be too strict.

I realize that you and GTOMR have good reason to be upset about some of the things Juuno wrote, but let's just move on.

Juuno wants to respond to you about who started the name-calling, but I do not see any reason to restart that endless argument. Also, I don't think asking people to pass a test before you respond to them looks good, either. Just don't respond if you do not think it is worth it.

We do not have to respond to every comment. Just respond to the ones you feel like responding to.

You know the more time we spend on answering silly questions, the less time we spend on doing more important things. And maybe that is what some people want.

We are getting a lot of rain here in Korea. I like it because it has lowered the temperature. I am just glad I don't have to get out in it.

    Take care.
