"Anonymous" comments are no longer allowed.

I have just returned from a 2-week vacation to find almost 1100 notices in my e-mail inbox of comments posted to this blog. I am glad to see the increased interest in the Dokdo-Takeshima debate, but I am disappointed to see so many anonymous postings that include bad language and personal attacks.

We want serious debate on this blog and commenters who post under IDs other than "Anonymous," so I have changed the blog setting to allow only those with Google or Blogger accounts to post comments. Also, comments on subjects unrelated to the Dokdo/Takeshima debate and comments that include bad language or personal attacks will be deleted at my discretion.

Enjoy the blog and the debate.

these days It was is too much comments unrelated by the annominous blame post and it is no possible to exchange comment or debates.

I think it is enough to create G-mail or Blogger ID if someone want to post.it is free of Charge.

And I heard interesting story about Propaganda campaign.just check it.

  4. Gtomr,

A lot seems to have happened in the past two weeks. For one, President Lee has broken his pledge, just like his predecessor, to not make Dokdo an issue that disrupts cooperation between Korea and Japan.

I do not understand why Korea cannot simply accept the fact that Korea and Japan disagree on the sovereignty of Liancourt Rocks, instead of acting shocked and surprised every time Japan renews her claim on the islets. In other words, Korea needs to learn the concept of "to agree to disagree" and needs to stop with all the childish rhetoric that I have seen in the news lately. I am very disappointed in Korea's new president.

I am glad to see that the Japanese government finally decided that her responsibility to teach Japanese children the history of Takeshima is more important than trying to please Koreans by agreeing to the unreasonable demand of not teaching the history.

Anyway, I have a lot of catch-up to do since I have not really had much access to Dokdo/Takeshima news. Take care.

It does not need much time to abuse a person with a different opinion.
It needs much time and perseverance to do a valuable job.
I show respect for your daily effort on this blog, Mr. Bevers, kaneganese and pacifist.

  6. Thank God. Welcome back, Gerry

We've been flooded with unrelated comments and abusive verbal attacks towards Japan. (There were a few against Korea, too, unfortunately. ) It looks like VANK urged Korean to vote for Korea.

Sorry that we couldn't handle them well. I'm glad you finally decided not to admit anymore anonymous. I'm getting really tired of hundreds of anonymous.

  7. Welcome back Gerry.

    Thanks for the treatment.
Actually this site was flooded with postings by various anonymouses.

However, it was good to hear opinions from some of them who were serious about this matter. I hope they will get their google accounts and come back again to discuss the matter with us.

  8. Gerry,

I would like to ask your favor...

    Kaneganese made a complete index;
    http://dokdo-or-takeshima.blogspot.com/2008/07/index-of-posts-on-dokdo-or-takeshima.html

Can you place this index at the top of the site? If there is an "Index" button to click at the first page, it will be convenient.
Please consider about it. Thank you.

  9. Thank you, everyone. I am glad to be back.

    Pacifist,

I am thinking about changing the organization of the menu at the top of the blog to "Korean," "Japanese," and "Western" with links to posts of indexes in those different languages. I am also thinking about changing the organization of the right menu bar in a way that will make it easier to find specific maps and documents.

If you have any specific ideas or suggestions, let me know.

  10. Gerry,

    Thanks. That will be fine.

  11. I think we should categorize the post I made under the Index, or make the title of the post appear on the sidebar. It is very convenient for me to find the past article.

Anyway, I'll keep updating the post time to time, or monthly.
