A study of the territorial dispute between Japan and Korea over Liancourt Rocks, a small cluster of barren, rocky islets in the Sea of Japan that Japanese call Takeshima and Koreans call Dokdo.
The following is a January 14, 1894 San-in Shimbun article entitled, 漁船改良구丸の好果, which talks about a successful test run to Ulleungdo of a new Japanese fishing boat. (Click on the article to enlarge.)
This article is about the new ship of Oki, made by someone in Yamaguchi prefecture. The ship went to Ulleungdo (stated as Chosun's Ulleungdo or Takeshima) as a test ride and succeeded.
