Another Ridiculous Claim from Hosaka Yuji

Hosaka Yuji, the Japanese professor at Korea's Sejong University, has made another ridiculous claim about Dokdo. This time he says that the maps below "clearly prove" that Usando (于山島)was Dokdo because they show Usando drawn with a mountain peak. He says the island could not have been Ulleungdo's neighboring island of Jukdo because Jukdo is flat on top.

Hosaka Yuji is sounding more and more like a clown who is willing to say almost anything to get media attention. If the drawing of the peak meant anything, couldn't it have meant that the island shoots almost straight up 100 meters from the sea? Isn't the fact that Usando was drawn as one island, not two, much more convincing evidence that it was not Dokdo (Liancourt Rocks) since Dokdo is essentially two rock islets and ninety-two kilometers away from Ulleungdo?

I doubt that even Korean professors would be silly enough to make the above claim. Link to the Korean Article

  1. He must be an agent provocateur secretly sent by Japanese government to induce Korean public opinion/media not to stop the claim that Usando is Dokdo and make Korean look foolish to the world.

Takeshima/Dokdo consists of two pinnacle islads, not one, in the first place. If you look at the mountain peaks of Ulleungdo, it doesn't describe all of them. Are they going to claim that 鬱陵島 on the map is not today's Ulleungdo since it has less mountain peaks than reality?

  2. Hosaka again? He is surely intentionally saying such stupid claims to appeal his presence as an anti-Japan scholar in Korea. But Korean people should notice that his stupidity is lowering credibility of Korean universities.

  3. I have never checked carefully the shape of "Usan" on Haedong-jido. Fully Zoomed it up like Yabutarou's page I got to know it is the shape from the south of Jukdo-Boussole rock with 3D design.
