They were usually artisans who copied charts for many different sources. So, to say that Kim Jeong Ho had no concept of Dokdo could be said of almost any map maker of the 19th Century.

Looking at the other landmarks on Kim Jeon Ho’s map he had little if any concept of Ulleungdo either. It’s just a rehashed map from other sources showing incorrect locations, measurements and non-existent islands. That said whenever I read you citing the distances and measurements on the margin of this map, I always get a good laugh.

BTW, doesn’t the island on the South side look just like Jukdo? No wait, doesn’t the other island on the Southwest look like Jukdo too? You can really see the same mountains!! Really, give me a break..

As I’ve said, outside of the ambiguous Chosun maps you flaunt around there is evidence that Usando was Dokdo Island. (not Jukdo islet). Unfortunately an even-handed study of all the historical records can’t lead us to the definite conclusion you have been trying to ram down our throats.

The Professor stated two opinions;

Dokdo wasn’t written on the map and Kim Jeong Ho had no concept of Dokdo. That’s all, and I agree.

The issue of the true identity of Usando varies from source to source but will always lead us in the direction of possibly maybe for either side. But it’s always good for fun. So Mr Bevers, if you can’t take an evenhanded approach to this historical debate than you are no better than the Korean Dokdo advocates you seem to loathe so much.

GTMOR, yabutarou’s website is a joke. You could analyse any of the adjacent islets drawn on Chosun maps of Ulleungdo and say they look like Jukdo Islet.steven bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02268330662444972559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26948035.post-88581105914562315922009-11-27T20:19:15.918+09:002009-11-27T20:19:15.918+09:00Sorry He draw 東與図誌 around 1830's before produc...Sorry He draw 東與図誌 around 1830's before producing 青邱図 according to this site

東輿圖志
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%9D%B1%E8%BC%BF%E5%9B%B3%E5%BF%97

The book stored as follows;
嶺南大
ソウル大学校奎章閣
高麗大学校

Where can I check this book through digital archives?GTOMRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06881539471132140299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26948035.post-62781883872932118542009-11-27T19:32:08.132+09:002009-11-27T19:32:08.132+09:00This comment has been removed by the author.GTOMRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06881539471132140299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26948035.post-56296948664632409502009-11-27T18:24:43.464+09:002009-11-27T18:24:43.464+09:00I think Kim doesn’t know much about Ullungdo, he j...I think Kim doesn’t know much about Ullungdo, he just copied from other detailed Ulluengdo map on 1830's.
If he wrote some geography magazine around 1830's it would be hint for his recognization but we don't know it.

By the way he wrote geography magazine e.g. 與図備誌 and 方與総誌 those magazine is match with 大東與地図 which Usan is just a anotehr name of Ulluengdo.GTOMRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06881539471132140299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26948035.post-36423838023447885892009-11-27T17:42:12.852+09:002009-11-27T17:42:12.852+09:00By the way it is good to analysis on Yabutarou'...By the way it is good to analysis on Yabutarou's flash here,

And check my video of Usando-Jukdo(Boussole Rock)

His suggestion is very very accurate.GTOMRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06881539471132140299noreply@blogger.com
